I worked at the same company for twenty years and thought I was all set to retire in a couple of years so it came as a devastating shock when the company went bankrupt. Suddenly I was without income or retirement. It wasn’t easy to find another full time job when a person is in their sixties. For months I relied on my credit to get me through. Thankfully I did land a job but by that time I was neck high in debt and needed debt counseling to help me turn my situation around. I learned it is never too late to get out of debt. It took some doing but now my debt is paid off and I am saving for retirement again.
