Picking up an instrument is not nearly as difficult as some people make it seem. In fact, it can be pretty straightforward, as long as you don’t go crazy and buy a Yamaha YAS-82Z alto saxophone. Those things are crazy expensive.  No, most people would be doing just fine.  If they just bought a nice used instrument fixed it up a bit and called it a day.  You can usually do this for less than a couple hundred dollars annual hire yourself a fine instrument that you can learn on is a going to be the greatest instrument never know.  But most people don’t even end up finishing learning how to play an instrument.

The history of pinup stickers goes back to the early 1900s.  The pioneering pinup girls were models and actresses, one of the most recognized groups was the iconic “Gibson Girl”, whose curves defined society’s idea of the perfect female form.  When the country went to war, pinup girls did too- as pictures in the footlockers and helmets of the GIs.  Having a picture of a beautiful girl from home eased the stress for the soldiers, and reminded them of what they were fighting for.  When the Air Force was created in 1947, nose art came into it’s own- the airmen not only named their airships, but adorned them with pinups.  Sadly the days of political correctness ended nose art in the late 1970s, but pinup has made a resurgence on the vehicles of today.  You can now see the pinup girls of yesterday on boats, motorcycles and ATVs- pin up stickers carry on a tradition that is almost as old as photography itself.

There are many aspects that have to be considered when it comes to outdoor photography. These aspects can cause many problems for amateur photographers. Common problems with outdoor photography are blurred pictures, dark silhouette, and sunlight glare. Among these factors, the biggest issue is the light. It is difficult to overcome, but it also presents the possibility of unique pictures. For instance, some backlighting can create interesting pictures. It can inanimate objects and create some contrasts that make the color glow. A bad weather also offers a good opportunity to create amazing pictures. Clouds, storms, fogs, and strong winds will present the wonder of our mother earth.

I find sketches are the best way to own something of an artist’s work. The finished paintings are usually considered the best work, but I find the sketches, particularly those done as preparatory work to a complete painting, tell more to me about the artists. They are a very personal thing, exploring details or practising techniques or shapes, tones, colours. Drawings seem to hold a passion and often an immediacy and energy that is lost within the finished painting. I think in most cases I expect I will continue to buy sketches for the bulk of my collection, just adding a painting or two here and there to fill things out and make it all more complete.

People can do amazing things with a guitar. One of my favorite bands is Radiohead, and they make absolutely absurd sounds come from their guitars. I do not know if it is all digitally added after the recording or what, but their music is hauntingly beautiful. They have put out consistently amazing albums for over a decade now, and are still going strong as ever. My mom actually bought me an acoustic guitar for my birthday last year, but it was my second semester of senior year in college so I did not have the proper time to dedicate myself to learning. I hope to find more time in the near future to learn, maybe when I move to South Korea I will find a place that sells cheap learner or starter guitars. I do not think a nice guitar would get the proper use from an amateur like me.

I know that free music downloads sound like a great deal, especially now when we’re all trying to save money.  But be aware that free music downloads usually involve file sharing which can become a threat to your computer and the safety of your personal information.  When sharing files with other individuals there is the possibility that someone who has the ability could get into your other files.  Your computer could be damaged and your personal information could fall into the wrong hands.  When you want to download music, use a reliable site like Napster, AmazonMP3, or iTunes.  It may cost a little for the monthly subscription, but it is worth it to know that your computer is secure.   

Cartoon network and its games like path of the jedi game were seen as a distraction from the evry day of life and not to be taken serously but for the moment. It would be ideal for children and should be. Nobody is going to watch just dumb cartoons all day.

But that  thought is that based on the assumption that Cartoon Network will just rerun the classic cartoons like Bugs Bunny cartoons and comics like Tom and Jerry.

But Cartoon Network has begun to produce their comic books that became hit shows like Samurai Jack and the Power Puff Girls cartoon. This is what the place has changed The Game and Cartoon Network on the top.

I have been listening to good songs these days. I am very  depressed so I need something to lift my soul from all the woes I think of. For instance I am playing this CD of the concert of my son with his Conga drums. He is such a music buff that he knows how to play a lot of instruments including the rare ones like the conga drums.   It is amazing how the up beat sound of the conga drums make me relax. I feel like the tension is coming out and I can think clearly again. Music really is a good outlet for stress.

You just know when you’ve found a great book – you can’t put it down no matter how hard you try. And if you do have to, for any reason, then you can’t wait to get back to it, no matter what.

Well, many people say this about charlaine harris books. Danger! Once you start reading them, you can’t stand to put them down, until they are finished – you’ve read the book from front cover to back cover.

So think carefully before you pick up a book by Charlaine Harris and even begin to read it. I warn you, they are contagious!

My guitar teacher always has some really great tips on guitar technique that he teaches us when we go for our weekly lessons. The guy is a musical encyclopedia, when it comes to his vast knowledge of the guitar and how he makes poetry between the frets and on those strings! He is such an inspiration, and that is why I wanted to learn how to play guitar in the first place- I saw him play in a concert with some other classical guitarists and the man was phenomenal to behold. Because of his inspiration, my guitar lessons are the highlight of my week.

Sometimes you can find out what you want to know about where groups are performing by reading the latest music magazines.  But one of the best places I have found to keep updated is a good music blogs blog page.  Many of the people that write these blogs have some connection to the industry and therefore some insider information.  They probably get it at the same time as the the magazines but do not have to wait for a publication date.  They can just read it and slap it on the internet immediately.   There are times when I have known weeks in advance of the opening day for ticket sales.

My friends and I occasionally visit a popular nightclub and we go because they play live music.  There is a guy that I am interested in and so I take every chance I can to see him perform.  It just happens that we know each other, so it was easy to talk to him, but I kind of said something I regret.  I told him I knew how to play his instrument, so he wanted me to show and offered me one of his used guitars.  I did my best, but he already knew that I couldn’t play, so I was a little embarrassed.  However, it was a great icebreaker and we joke about it all the time now.
