SCUBA also called Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus is a form of swimming under water for prolonged hours with the aid of scuba sets. Extracting oxygen dissolved in water is done with the help of gills for fishes whereas humans who lack gills will have to depend on an external device. SCUBA is a technique which uses a cylinder of compressed gas that aids the scuba drivers to stay underwater much longer for even hours or days.
Exploration of the underwater world can be undertaken with a variety of equipments like scuba masks, buoyancy devices, fins, breathing regulators and gauges. There are different types of scuba diving; however recreational, commercial, military and technical are the most common. With many people all over the world considering scuba diving as a recreational sport, it is gaining rapid recognition. My next post will be about, scuba diving.
