My brother has been an alcoholic for 25 years. He has a physical dependency on alcohol and when he doesn’t get to drink for several hours he begins to shake and has seizures. He is in need of an alcohol treatment program. When he was hospitalized this summer the doctors had him on medications to allow him to detox from the alcohol and now he needs to find a program to help him to understand his addiction and to cope with it one day at a time. He became an alcoholic over a long period of time and recovery takes time too.
