Making a Living Off of Cocaine: One Town’s Struggle to Survive
Have you ever thought that making a living off of cocaine would be an issue before? Well, one town in South America is struggling to make ends meet so to speak because its main form of income was through the drug industry. That’s right. The town acutally grew and manufactured cocaine, which was then sold to drug dealers, sold out of Colombia and distributed to the rest of the world. As messed up as this sounds, it is true nonetheless. Other people have to eat too, so apparently drugs are the way to go. While the situation warrants little sympathy from outsiders, it is still sad. Here is this small community nestled in the forest of Colombia, sitting on top of hundreds upon thousands (even) of Coca bushes, which are used to manufacture cocaine. What else are they really supposed to do? It only makes sense it would seem.
