Cold pressure welding or the contact welding was first recognized as the general materials phenomenon in the 1940s. at that time the discovery about it was that the two clean, flat surfaces of similar metal would strongly adhere if brought into contact under vacuum. Cold welding is a solid state welding process in which the joining takes place without fusion at the interface of the two parts to be welded. And it is also not like that of the fusion welding process because no liquid or molten phase is present in the joint.Cold pressure welding process is new and the research work is going on it and in the near future it will be abbreviated and will be of great use.
