There are two airports on the island of Tenerife, one in the north, the other is situated in the south. The south, where most visitors gravitate and where the livelier resorts pulsate within is where Reina Sofia or Tenerife South Airport is found. Reina Sofia, the larger of the two, is found in Granadilla de Abona. Holidaymakers enjoying the sunny offerings of the big resorts of Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas tend to land at Tenerife South. If you rent a car at Tenerife airport, you need to take the TF-1 highway and follow the signs. Tenerife North Airport otherwise known as Los Rodeos is located just 11 kilometres outside of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and drivers will find the TF-5 highway handy.
